Indian Hindu influences from the south and Tibetan Buddhist influences from the north make a unique blend which is typical for Nepal. Several places such as the stupa at Bodnath are on the Unesco World Heritage list. Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktpur are the three former royal capitals of the Malla kingdoms abounding with palaces and temples and are also on the Unesco list. All these pictures were made before the 2015 earthquake which did great damage.
