a series of travel images from Italy, Cinque Terre means Five Lands, five small coastal villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso located in the Italian region of Liguria, to the east of Genua, west of La Spezia. Cinque Terre is a national park and it is on the Unesco World Heritage list. Steep hills rise up from the Ligurian sea, a part of the Mediterranean. The scenery with the villages clinging to the cliffs is spectacular, grapes and vegetables are cultivated on the steep fields with the sea as a backdrop and several trails between the villages are very popular for hiking.
