This chapter is a roadtrip visiting Coban a rural town in the central highlands of Guatemala, capital of the Alta Verapaz department, to El Estor on Lago Izabal, the largest lake in the country, Rio Dulce with a boatrip in the Rio Dulce National Park (Biotopo protegido Chocón Machacas) and ending in the town Livingston at the mouth of the Río Dulce at the Gulf of Honduras and the Caribbean Sea. Livingston is noted for its unusual mix of Garífuna, Afro-Caribbean, Maya and Ladino people, a place to relax and unwind.
