Travel Pictures Gallery.com - Africa - Egypt - Western Desert and Oases
a series of travel images from Africa, Egypt, Western Desert and Oases. The Western Desert of Egypt is an area of the Sahara that lies west of the river Nile, up to the Libyan border, and south from the Mediterranean Sea to the border with Sudan. It covers an area of 680.650 km2 (262,800 sq mi), roughly two-third of the total area of Egypt. In this trip we explore the beautiful landscapes of the White and the Black Desert, make a Camel trek in the desert near Kharga Oasis, visit the valley of the Golden Mummies at Bahariya Oasis and visit Dakhla and Farafra Oasis and Qila al Dabba, an ancient necropolis.
