Near the present city on the east bank of the river are the temple of Amun at Karnak and the Luxor temple most of which structures were built during the pharaohs of the 18th to 20th dynasties (1570–1090 BC) The west bank of Luxor had been the site of royal burials since around 2100 BC, here at the Valley of Kings and the Valley of Queens you can explore the tombs of this vast Necropolis. The impressive mortuary temple of Hatshepsut is also to be found on the West Bank of the Nile. Enough to keep you busy for days.
