It's one of the most isolated inhabited islands in the world and is situated in the Pacific Ocean to the west of South America. The enigmatic Moai statues are its biggest attraction drawing visitors from all over. Most likely of Polynesian origin some link it to the mainland culture of the Incas. Rapa Nui National Park is a protected Chilean wildlife area and because of its unique cultural importance a Unesco World Heritage.
