Travel Pictures Gallery.com - Caribbean - Jamaica
a series of travel images from Jamaica, an island in the Caribbean, south of Cuba. As a nation it remains part of the Commonwealth with Queen Elizabeth as head of state. After the Spanish settled in 1498 the land was gradually cultivated to grow sugarcane, bananas and citrus fruits. The population is a mix of African, Indian, Chinese and Middle-Eastern people brought here to work the fields during British colonial times. In this trip we visit excellent and quiet beaches, experience the lush jungle of the inland and breathe the Rasta vibrations with a visit to national hero Bob Marley's mausoleum.
